A high altitude beauty, the Snow Partridge is found in alpine pastures and open hillsides of the Himalayas ranging from Pakistan till Arunachal Pradesh in the eastern most tip of India. I had to climb early at around 4.30 AM from 7000 feet to 13000 feet to get this flock at good light before the Sun gets harsher. Quite unbelievably we encountered this flock suddenly and this one strayed from the group thus giving me a good chance to click him with a complimenting background. I must say that one does not really get as many chances since once the flock gets disturbed since they really climb  fast making it difficult to keep pace to catch up with all the heavy camera equipment at such high altitude.
